Burnout/Adrenal Fatigue Symptoms

Chronic fatigue and burnout are symptoms that are frequently seen in clinic. Also known as Adrenal fatigue, they can be life debilitating in their grip on your ability to function normally.

The lifestyle of most people revolves around a barrage of constant pressures.

  • Mortgage/rent payments

  • Work stress and pressure

  • Relationships

  • Childcare

  • Previous emotional trauma

  • Physical trauma

  • Dietary stressors

  • Environmental stressors (chemical/mould/emf exposure)

  • Poor sleep habits

All of these can contribute to a chronically stressed nervous system that no longer has the resources available to deal with the stressors.

By taking a step by step approach to treatment and by following the Four Step-Treatment Process undertaken here, the aim when treating anyone experiencing burnout is to;

  • Identify stressful triggers that may be contributing to the symptoms of burnout or fatigue

  • Free up subconscious energy resources by desensitising the nervous system to those triggers via work in clinic, lifestyle or nutritional modifications

  • Rebalance the hormones and neurotransmitters required for energy so that you can go through life without the fear of fatigue

  • Bomb-proof the work we do to ensure you are able to continue pursing a busy work/life balance without the fear of it repeating.

What if my symptoms are down to previous Lyme disease, mould exposure or glandular fever?

It is fairly common for burnout/adrenal fatigue symptoms to run concurrently or following mould exposure, Lyme disease or viruses like glandular fever. The aim of the neurological work we do here is to give your body back some of the subconscious resources lost during the process of having these viruses or exposures.

We do this by working to promote a balanced nervous system between the Sympathetic (fight and flight) and Parasympathetic (rest and relax) arms of your autonomic nervous system. During times of acute stress brought on by viruses or mould, your body increases your sympathetic nervous systems response to help with the fight. However, long after you are clear from the issues associated with the virus, your nervous system can still, sometimes be stuck in a perpetual imbalance of fight vs. relax.

Part of the Four Step-Treatment Process used here is to desensitise your nervous systems response to high stress stimuli that should no longer be seen as dangerous. When we achieve this, we can work towards bringing balance back to all the subconscious systems of your body.
