For a lot of people, Injuries picked up during sport or exercise have a way of hanging around in the background for some time. Niggling back pain or shoulder pain are common themes seen in clinic that might have been around for some time and didn’t get better with rest.

Generally, the earlier you get treatment for injuries and issues accrued during exercise, the faster your return will be.

The Four Step-Treatment Process used here is designed to help patients move through the acute stages of injury, right through their return to exercise, with the aim of bomb proofing results so that recurrences do not happen.

Taking performance to the next level

Beyond simply treating injuries occurred during exercise, the work we do here has the capacity to take your performance to another level.

To say that I am obsessed with finding  new ways to maximise peak health and performance would be an accurate statement about me.

Being a Health Coach alongside my in clinic work with patients, endows me with a unique set of skills that cater extremely well to help athletes achieve their peak performance.

As someone who has been actively playing sports (inline hockey and ice hockey) since I was 11, spending time in the gym, and coaching and training individuals for over 15 years, I understand the importance of preparing for peak physical performance and the necessity of remaining injury-free. This philosophy is a true passion of mine and an integral part of my life—it is not just part of my job.

If you improve the flow of the walking or running gait action, your running efficiency will improve; meaning you use less energy to do that task. Greater efficiency means being able to do it faster, for longer.

The same applies to strength based work. An efficient muscular system where muscles fire in the correct and functional order allows greater potential for ranges of motion and strength.

Any athlete under my stewardship can expect to experience improved physical and mental performance, no matter their standard or point in their career.

FAQs

Can I still play sport or exercise during treatment for an injury or pain?

This will depend on the nature of your pain or injury. In some cases, training with pain or injuries can be achieved by training different components or energy systems in the body. However sometimes a period of rest will be required to maximise your recovery. Each case is treated individually and this is something we can discuss.

Should I be looking for treatment even if I am not in any pain?

It doesn’t matter if you are a keen amateur or a professional athlete, some form of regular treatment will absolutely help maximise your physical and mental performance whilst helping to hold off future injury.  Niggles and injuries are an unfortunate part of sport and exercise; the challenge is what can you do to prevent them occurring in the first place? Regular treatment to ensure that your nervous system is not overloaded and that you are moving in a sound, functional way is one way of achieving that.
